Welcome to the nursery at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church!
At LMPC, we want to make every effort to ensure that each of our ministries glorifies God in every detail.
To do this in the LMPC nursery, we try to make each child feel
- comfortable and happy,
- loved and wanted,
- secure and unhurried.
Please see below for more information about our program or call us at 423-424-5608.
Newborns through the Joyful Giraffes (3’s) may be in the nursery for up to two hours on Sunday mornings to enable parents to attend worship and Sunday school.
This is usually a small group of children in a range of ages, cared for in one room. The environment is typically quiet and calm. If your child is not used to being in a large group, this might be a great introductory opportunity. No Sunday school lesson is offered at this session.
9:30 and 11:00 Nursery
These classes are staffed by regular workers who consistently serve the same age-group of children and are able to establish good relationships with them. Workers are supported by member volunteers who serve once per quarter.
Loving Lambs: birth – 11 months old
Tiny Tugboats: walkers – 11 months and older
9:30 and 11:00 Toddler Sunday school
These classes are staffed by teachers for a full year, aides who serve for a quarter at a time, and a regular worker who assists the teachers.
Cuddly Caterpillars: 18-23 months by August 30
These children hear a lesson from Mimi, a puppet which teaches them about creation and God’s love through song.
Puddle Jumpers: 2 years by August 30
Joyful Giraffes: 3 years by August 30
The toddler class curriculum is a year-long overview of the Bible which teaches the biblical vocabulary of faith.
The nursery is also available:
