Lunch at the Buttonwillow Civil War Dinner Theatre in Whitwell, TN
Tuesday, June 6
We will travel together to Whitwell to enjoy a lunch matinee at the Buttonwillow Civil War Dinner Theater where we will step back into 1864 and be surrounded by the grandeur of a beautiful antebellum hall at the old Buttonwillow Church. We will be treated to Southern cuisine based on authentic 19th-century recipes borrowed from the Confederate White House, and witness the encounter between a Union brother and his Confederate sister. Their chance meeting during the War will amaze and amuse you. Civil War trivia and curiosities are woven into this gentle and humorous encounter that will transport us back to the time of Jefferson Davis and Abraham Lincoln. We are promised that the dramatic ending will bring us to our feet!
Following our lunch matinee at Buttonwillow, we will enjoy a short visit to the Children’s Holocaust Museum for ‘Paper Clips’ at the Whitwell Middle School. This paper clip collection has become a part of the “Children’s Holocaust Memorial” created by the students, staff, and community of Whitwell Middle School. The Memorial contains 11 million paper clips housed in an authentic German transport car honoring the lives of each victim of the Holocaust.
We will depart from LMPC at 9:45 a.m. and return at approximately 5:00 p.m. Cost of the lunch matinee, museum tour, and ride is $35.00 per person.
RSVP by Wednesday, May 31 by registering at the link below or by sending your payment to the LMPC office, 316 North Bragg Avenue, Lookout Mtn, TN 37350. As always, please feel free to bring a friend, and we very much look forward to seeing you!
