As Presbyterians, we are led by elected elders and deacons of the church. The following is our annual process for electing officers:
Member Step One (September): Prompted by a letter from the church, the congregation nominates men they think would serve as faithful elders and deacons.
*A committee made up of members of the session, diaconate, and women’s ministry prayerfully considers the congregation’s nominations and produces a slate of nominees for the congregation to vote upon.
Member Step Two (December): In a congregational meeting, the congregation votes on a slate of nominees to enter the officer training process.
*The officer candidates are given training and testing to further their spiritual growth according to their prior experience.
Member Step Three (May): In a second congregational meeting, the congregation votes to elect the officer candidates who successfully complete training. If elected, they will serve for a three-year term.
*The newly elected officers take vows before the congregation and are installed in their office of elder or deacon.
The form below will allow LMPC members to nominate individuals for officer positions. Please verify your membership, select up to 10 people for the office of deacon, click continue, and select up to 10 people for the office of elder.
