Associate Pastor of Children and Youth
Len came to LMPC as the youth director in 1990, having previously served as the chaplain at the Baylor School and the area director for Young Life Chattanooga. He received his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1976 and his Master of Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1988. Len was ordained as associate pastor of children and youth at LMPC in 1998. Len and his wife Shannon have three children and five grandchildren.
Some formative experiences for Len have been working with people who help him laugh, marriage to Shannon and learning how to love her and their children well, and teaching youth ministry at Covenant. Influential voices in Len's life are his mentor Frank Brock, Young Life staff, and LMPC staff. His favorite books are A Praying Life by Paul Miller, East of Eden by John Steinbeck, The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, and Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. Len enjoys running, hiking, eating good meals, playing games, and helping his children and grandchildren. For him, the best part of serving at LMPC is watching the staff, volunteers, and students become "stars" in their roles here. He has also enjoyed being a member of the winning staff golf team for the past several years.
