LMPC Sanctuary

Our Worship Services

Sunday Morning: Worship services take place in the sanctuary at 8:10, 9:30, and 11:00 a.m.

  • These services are intentionally "historically vital" in the sense that classic hymns and liturgy from our Reformation heritage are used. Each service is prayerfully prepared and led in the hope that God will visit all of us with living spiritual worship, not dead religious ritual.

Sunday Evening: Come "crown the Lord's day" at 6:00 p.m. in the LMPC chapel.

  • This service is "informally vital" by intent. We again seek God's presence as we worship with hymns of praise, songs, and spiritual songs, body-wide intercessory prayer, Scripture meditation, and the preaching of the Word of God.

Celebration of the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper:  The Lord's Supper is observed and celebrated on the first Sunday of each month in the morning and the third Sunday of each month in the evening.

Our Worship Philosophy

For the glory of our triune God, by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and through the work of the Holy Spirit, Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church seeks to be a community of believers who:

  • are responding to God's grace and glory in worship and wonder,
  • are being transformed in their relationships with God and one another through large and small groups, and
  • are participating in a Kingdom-building movement to change the world.

Thus, we want to be a people defined by the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.  To see this purpose fulfilled we must be centered on God's infallible Word and build upon the richness of our Reformed theological and historic background. In a phrase, we seek to be biblically based and historically vital in all that we do as we glorify God.
