Giving at LMPC
To give of our lives and property to God is not only a commanded duty, but also a gracious privilege. The Scriptures describe this offering as a beautiful mark of God’s grace in our lives.
Why Give?
Yearly Pledging
We encourage pledging because:
It enables wise planning as a strong pledge percentage informs and shapes our budgeting process for the ministry and operational needs of LMPC each year. It also helps believers to orient all other decisions and plans around our commitment to give to God’s honor and work.
It enlivens our faith as we declare what we will give before we have all the facts and details, and God uses the pledging process to bind our hearts to his work and his church as we commit our treasure to him in advance.
And it embodies faithfulness to our membership vows as we have promised before God and to one another that we will support the worship and work of the church to the best of our ability.
Ways to Give
This convenient service simplifies the giving process, and allows you to give 24/7. It’s easy to start, change, or stop. You will have the option to give toward your pledge, or give an offering outside of a pledge. When you give online using Realm Connect, you may do so via automatic bank withdrawals or a credit card. Make a one-time gift, or set up a recurring gift. (Please note: the church will incur a 3% fee with each credit card gift, so please consider covering that fee in addition to your gift. American Express is not accepted.) Not a member with a profile on Realm Connect? You may still give online. Simply fill out the required fields. To store bank account or credit card info for later use you must login with an account.
Make checks payable to “Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church.” If you would like your cash gifts to be reflected on your contribution statement, use an envelope and be sure to write your name, address and fund (RENEW, offering, etc.) clearly on the front. Gifts received in envelopes are tracked in Realm and sent out in a quarterly statement.

You can easily give any amount to LMPC via your phone. Just text “LMPC,” along with the amount you want to give, to 73256.

Gifts of stocks, mutual funds, IRA, or personal property. In some cases, this may provide you with more tax benefits than donating the proceeds after a sale. If you are over 70 ½ years of age and are required to take mandatory IRA distributions, there could be a significant tax benefit by making a contribution to LMPC directly from your IRA. Please consider checking with your tax advisor for more information.
You may also be able to name the church as a recipient of matching gifts through your place of employment, as a beneficiary of a memorial gift, or as a recipient of a gift through a will or bequest.
