Frank Hitchings
Frank Hitchings serves LMPC as senior associate pastor, responsible for overall church administration as well as preaching, teaching, and counseling along with the other pastors. Frank graduated from UT-Knoxville with a bachelor’s degree in business, followed by an M.B.A. in finance at the University of Memphis. He spent his twenties in business development and acquisitions before God led him to Reformed Theological Seminary for his Master of Divinity. Following graduation, LMPC called Frank, and he has served there since 1991. He is married to Mary Vassar, and they have two daughters, a son, two sons-in-law, and two grandsons.
Frank grew up in Memphis where he was deeply influenced by his grandmother Lynn, a lady who modeled loving servanthood, whose bedrock was Jesus, and who sought intimacy with God through prayer and Scripture. Although Frank was led to the Lord by his grandmother when he was very young, when he turned 14 years old, the Lord put a young college student named Ed Norton in his life as his youth director. Ed is Frank’s closest friend to this day, and they founded the United Kingdom Partnership in 2013 to encourage Reformed, indigenous church planting throughout the UK.
Besides the people God used in Frank’s life, Frank has been influenced by Jack Miller’s teaching on discipleship (Sonship and Outgrowing the Ingrown Church), John Piper (The Swans are Not Silent series), and theologian Louis Berkhof. In his free time, he enjoys tennis, restoring old British cars, and any activity on the water.
