Summer in the Psalms
Reflecting on the Psalms, John Calvin wrote this, “What various and resplendent riches are contained in this treasury! It is difficult to find words to describe … I have been wont to call this book not inappropriately, an anatomy of all parts of the soul; for there is not an emotion of which anyone can be conscious that is not here represented as in a mirror.” Our desire for LMPC is to study and discover this rich treasury together this summer. Pick up a reading plan or download it from our website so we can read the Psalms together throughout the week. Each Sunday, one of the psalms from the previous week will be the selected text for preaching. May our summer in the Psalms lead us all to vitality and honesty in our relationship with God. May our hearts learn to sing, lament, trust, grieve, hope and give thanks as we enjoy the language of the heart – the book of Psalms.
